On another subject, I have to bite my tongue and admit that I REALLY do like that new sign in front of the University Center.

I do feel that change is being made and it is good, the key is to market the University with it's new brand.
And you must market the university to bring in the mainstream students, if we market ourselves as a 3rd tier college, we will attract 3rd tier enrollment. Keep the standards high.
If anything is not "Ready for Primetime" don't put it on display. We saw that a lot in the past. Some Cringeworthy stuff!
One of my co-workers sons went "college shopping" a few years back. Told me he was son did not feel "comfortable" of what he saw when they visited UNO, it was a run down "derilict & unkept" looking place with some students looking like "thuggery". I don't know how you impose a culture shift to be more professional looking. He did say that other state colleges did not have that feel.
We need the admin & faculty to set the example, a sense of pride goes a long way!
