Had to chuckle at some of these comments.

Now of course, Reddit is... let's say, a different crowd from Privateer Island. But there is a definite, repeated reiteration of the same sentiment we saw when the football vote failed. Particularly: "Yes, I never liked LSU's prioritization of sports. I chose UNO because they had a great art program but it's substantially worsened in the last year. LSU is just going to make further cuts to the humanities."
Ewwww, ewwww, sportsball! EWWW!
Not that I necessarily think they will, and I don't trust them at all, but if LSU comes in and forcefully reverses that kind of crap, I'll swallow hard and cheer the purple and gold Privateers.
Ok. I couldn't help but look.
This one: "I’ve hated LSU my entire life but I’ve hated my time at UNO so much that I postponed my graduation so that i wouldn’t have a UNO degree."
Then why the hell go to the school? You hate it. You don't want the "worthless" diploma to say UNO, but you still go. So many affordable options to get a degree in Louisiana. But hey, I get it. You probably can't leave NOLA. So go to SUNO. Or better yet, if the degree you are getting is "worthless", then go to Delgado, Nunez or Northshore Technical College, i.e., trade school. Be a plumber, carpenter, electrician, mechanic or HVAC repairman.
But this dude is going to stick it out, delay graduating (i.e. pay more fees for an additional semester) just so his "worthless" degree doesn't say UNO.
Maybe he's getting the wrong degree.
My UNO degree launched a rewarding, lucrative and personally satisfying career. My UNO degree isn't "worthless". Just the opposite. It's "priceless".
Man....I don't get it.

Totally agree. It is exactly my life except a different degree.

I'm ... trying to figure out what to do there / how that works. I'm not entirely sure Sidearm still updates the app for us. Work in progress.
It's still broken but by bookmarking the website on your home page, it works like an app. I'm overthinking this.
I'm waiting for the University to sell some LSU New Orleans 3'x5' flags.
App update:
We know it's broken, we know it's the wrong colors, I met with Gio about it - we are getting the ball rolling on an updated/fixed app. For you Android people (myself included) there will be an Android app for the first time ever. No ETA though.
For some reason the color change and name change are growing on me. Not sure why.
A new a start? Nice to be associated with the wealth of LSU athletics? A niche identity as the urban LSU?

I think reality will hit me when I attend my first home basketball game and see the team in different colors. Having said that I will miss my Silver and Blue and UNO.
But like most things New Orleans, I still have friends that call it "Public Service", "NOPSI", "LP&L", "etc". So saying "UNO" vs LSU New Orleans will be part of our vernacular for some time to come.
Having worked in corporate America for my entire career, I witnessed and participated in 7 or 8 "right sizing, down sizing, reorganizations, department shifts, color changes, logo changes, etc." It is part of what happens with either progress or regression. I think we were regressing and this might be the avenue for a positive direction.
I am hoping this change is for the good of the university. And I am not having as much grief over the color change or name change as I thought I would.
And like you I am not sure why.....maybe my cup is half full....if so just keep my wine coming.....LOL!!
GO PRIVATEERS!!!

I'm not totally clear between an "app" and just going directly to the website but bookmarking this website on my iPhone works fine for me. The icon colors are even purple and gold. I guess it's easier for fans to just download an app from the app store and marketing aspects.

I will buy a purple and gold New Orleans Privateers hat when they're available. I guess it's time to move on.
