So, does this Sorsby ruling now allow our former players/gamblers to sue for reinstatement? How do they get criminal records, and this guy gets to play? Maybe Bo will sue for more eligibility....!!!

The NCAA gets its ass handed to it in court YET AGAIN. Is there any case they cannot lose?
It's why I'm assuming Coleton Benson will be able to successfully sue for a fifth year of eligibility. I'd think his opponent is time, not so much the NCAA.

The entire NCAA sports scene is a debacle.
I would love to go back to a time when a coach or Athletic Director could recruit a freshmen and develop this player and the rest of a team for 4 years. This new system where you lose most of your team except 1 or 2 players every year is a disaster for college sports. I don't know how much more of this I can take.

It does seem like this situation was the hard line for a lot of people in college sports -- you had several schools (including some Big 10/SEC schools I think) that were refusing to play Texas Tech. However, notably, it wasn't that the ruling was reversed; the NCAA didn't exactly win here, it just got to be too much heat for Texas Tech/Sorsby and everyone decided it wasn't worth the hassle and he might as well just go to the NFL.

I just wonder when this Bull$hit is all going to end. I just don't get it with these kids. They play, they get paid and then they think because they "wore a jersey with a number" it is their's for life???? Give me a break!!!

IT seems there's just a large percentage of people in this country who feel that they are special and that what they do/did is more monumental than saving lives, making people's lives better etc. They feel entitled to whatever THEY feel they want.
I'm old. I'm actually glad I'm not raising kids in this environment. People are so selfish and self absorbed. My rant stays on full time now. 
It's not to defend him in any way, but LSU has officially and unofficially retired their other two Heisman Trophy winners numbers.
Billy Cannon's 20 is officially retired and Joe Burrow's 9 has not been issued to anyone since he played. Now, both Cannon and Burrow won the Heisman AND a national championship for LSU where Daniels only won the Heisman. That might be a little bit of where he is coming from. But the legal action and cease and desist order is ridiculous. |
