The government program he was on will not be renewed???

What the hell does that mean?  Is that UNO-speak for an LSU-driven budget cut?

So maybe the funding has been cut by the state of Louisiana.   

From the UNO site:   "The $1.95 million public-private initiative will provide year-round youth programming for approximately 7,000 young people across the Greater New Orleans region over the next year, giving local children and teens additional options for recreation and mentorship."     

So I would assume that has been spent and not renewed.  So maybe the funding has been cut by the state of Louisiana, NORD, and / or others.
