I know that I will get some heat from a couple of posters here but I just don’t see how uno can compete in this landscape. Especially with the recent hires that were made in the athletic department. All old re treads, many of which were fired from there previous jobs. I just don’t see a way that we can compete in this new landscape with the current leadership.
In fact the university as a whole has made some questionable hires in the leadership roles that leave me scratching my head. How can an organization hire people who were let go from previous positions for terrible behavior and just expect good results. It’s a dumpster fire if you ask me.

As far was Andrew, I don't know him, but I have heard nothing but good things about him.
If there are other hires they have not been announced but we need a strong athletic administration with people who have been in the trenches to get this department back in shape. With the changing landscape I would think we needed someone who has been somewhat battle tested in college sport administration. Gio has a very small budget at Loyola yet they seemed to do well while he was there.
The real key is who is going to be leading the University after the search. If we have a dynamic leader who supports athletics, not just in passing but honestly works with the department to help it raise both the funds and profile I think there is a good chance we will actually be better than we have been in a few years.
A lot of moving parts but I think we are going to be better than we have been for quite some time.
Again, I am a glass half full guy. Might be too much wine in the glass but that is my perspective.

Of course she left LSU New Orleans out of the article. I wrote to her.....but no response. I guess she is too busy writing the next article.
But the Privateers will get the same as the other schools. What was interesting is the ULL deficit. WHO is watching the spending at these universities? Someone at the UL System should be fired for the lack of "institutional" oversight. It is tax payer money that is being spent and with no consequences to those who do it. It is the taxpayers who are the victims.
"Though all athletics programs in the University of Louisiana System are operating in the red, occasionally creating fiscal challenges for universities as a whole, ULL’s program has the most severe budget deficit, with University of Louisiana System board documents showing it ended the previous fiscal year with a negative fund balance of over $57 million.
“Those funds help cover the full range of athletics operations, including scholarships, travel, salaries and other program expenses,” UL Lafayette spokesman Eric Maron said in a statement. “By supporting those costs, the SPORT Fund reduces the level of institutional support required for athletics.”
The sports gambling money from the fund is not intended to be used for revenue sharing."

Do you think that demographics is catching up with LSU ? There are only so many big donors in Louisiana as compared to other states. It is hard to believe that a program as well supported and developed as LSU has been is having trouble keeping up financially.
