This is wonderful to see for an old timer who still remembers the EJ days like it was last night!
Sadly, the local news wasn't much interested. I watched a few stations at 2 different times and didn't see it mentioned. I'll watch again tonite.

BUT, and there is always a BUT.....if he does too good, the big boys snatch him from us, and we start all over again. Ugggh.
I hope Stacy wins a lot of games over the next few seasons and is approached by the big schools. If he is I would hope we have the resources to "counter the offers to some degree" and he would stay.
We will never be the "destination" university but if we do well and things are going well we should the chance to pick up a prototype "Floyd / Price / Hollowell" type of coach for the continuation of a good thing.
But who knows. Maybe he would want to stay in the area. He is from here, his wife is from here, his family is here. Maybe he wants to stay here.
We have a whole season to see where this team takes us.
I am looking forward to it.

So Tulane posted their non conference schedule today. 5 in state schools, La Tech in Ruston, U La La, UL Monroe, Dillard and Nicholls at home. I guess they got tired of getting beat by the Privateers and decided to take on different foes.
I guess Hunter got tired to getting bashed by the fans for losing to the cross town foe...

That was such a satisfying win last year at Tulane - Coleton Benson put on a 3-point clinic, dropping 33 points. What a great night!

Schedule News: New Orleans and Florida Gulf Coast have agreed to a home and home series starting on Sunday November 29th in New Orleans. Return game in Fort Myers in the 27-28 season.
Nice! So this schedule is already better than last year's schedule. Not a fan of Sunday home games, especially in November/December, but... I guess I'll take what we can get.
I'll never forget Florida Gulf Coast's run in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. That was the BEST 15 SEED I HAVE EVER SEEN. While I have always been an advocate (at least through 2023) that good mid-majors can be highly nationally competitive, almost anytime a 15 seed wins, it's a genuine fluke. Not so with that FGCU team; I spent three games watching them and just repeating to myself, "How the hell did this team lose 10 games?" Man were they good. Dunk City!
Of course, they've dropped off a lot since then, so the Privateers at home should have a good shot against them.
